Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)
If you're considering ear surgery...
Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears.
For the most part, the operation is done on children between the ages of four and 14. Ears are almost fully grown by age four, and the earlier the surgery, the less teasing and ridicule the child will have to endure. Ear surgery on adults is also possible, and there are generally no additional risks associated with ear surgery on an older patient.
If you're considering ear surgery for yourself or your child, this information will give you a basic understanding of the procedure-when it can help, how it's performed, and what results you can expect. It can't answer all of your questions, since a lot depends on your individual circumstances. Please be sure to ask your doctor if there is anything you don't understand about the procedure.

Eyelid Lift (Blepharoplasty)
Eyelid surgery (technically called blepharoplasty) is a procedure to remove fat--usually along with excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes - features that make you look older and more tired than you feel, and may even interfere with your vision. However, it won't remove crow's feet or other wrinkles, eliminate dark circles under your eyes, or lift sagging eyebrows. While it can add an upper eyelid crease to Asian eyes, it will not erase evidence of your ethnic or racial heritage. Blepharoplasty can be done alone, or in conjunction with other facial surgery procedures such as a facelift or browlift.

Face / Neck Lift
If you´re considering a forehead lift... A forehead lift or "browlift" is a procedure that restores a more youthful, refreshed look to the area above the eyes. The procedure corrects drooping brows and improves the horizontal lines and furrows that can make a person appear angry, sad or tired. In a forehead lift, the muscles and tissues that cause the furrowing or drooping are removed or altered to smooth the forehead, raise the eyebrows and minimize frown lines. Your surgeon may use the conventional surgical method, in which the incision is hidden just behind the hairline; or it may be performed with the use of an endoscope, a viewing instrument that allows the procedure to be performed with minimal incisions. Both techniques yield similar results -- smoother forehead skin and a more animated appearance. If you´re considering a forehead lift, this brochure will provide a basic understanding of the procedure -- when it can help, how it´s performed and what results you can expect. It won´t answer all of your questions, since a lot depends on your individual circumstances. Be sure to ask your doctor if there is anything you don´t understand about the procedure.

Nose Surgery (Rhinoplasty)
If you're considering rhinoplasty...
Rhinoplasty, or surgery to reshape the nose, is one of the most common of all plastic surgery procedures. Rhinoplasty can reduce or increase the size of your nose, change the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils, or change the angle between your nose and your upper lip. It may also correct a birth defect or injury, or help relieve some breathing problems.
If you're considering rhinoplasty, this information will give you a basic understanding of the procedure-when it can help, how it's performed, and what results you can expect. It can't answer all of your questions, since a lot depends on the individual patient and the surgeon. Please ask your surgeon about anything you don't understand.

Body Reshaping |
 |
Body Lift
Body lifts are individualized for people who have usually lost a lot of weight and have excess skin in the abdomen, back, buttocks, and thighs. This is an effective method of restoring body shape, skin appearance, and skin tone. Usually the incision is extensive and circumferential. This allows tightening of both the front and back..

Body Reshaping after massive weight loss
After massive weight loss, either by diet and exercise or a gastric bypass or other procedure, body improvement can be a challenging event. Patients often have excess skin of their entire body. A combination of procedures can be planned. Sometimes they are done together and performed in a hospital, and sometimes they can be done as an outpatient. It is very important to seriously look at yourself and decide what are the most important areas to concentrate on first. Body lifts, abdominoplasties, breast lifts, arm lifts, leg, thigh and buttock lifts are all can be considered. If severe, facial and neck changes may be approached with corrective surgery.

Liposuction (Lipoplasty)
Liposuction is a procedure that can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. During the past decade, liposuction, which is also known as "lipoplasty" or "suction lipectomy," has benefited from several new refinements. Today, a number of new techniques, including ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL), the tumescent technique, and the super-wet technique, are helping many plastic surgeons to provide selected patients with more precise results and quicker recovery times. Although no type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that don't respond to traditional weight-loss methods.

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)
Abdominoplasty, known more commonly as a "tummy tuck," is a major surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. The procedure can dramatically reduce the appearance of a protruding abdomen. But bear in mind, it does produce a permanent scar, which, depending on the extent of the original problem and the surgery required to correct it, can extend from hip to hip.

Breast Augmentation (Augmentation Mamoplasty)
If you're considering breast augmentation...
Breast augmentation, technically known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman's breast for a number of reasons:
- To enhance the body contour of a woman who, for personal reasons, feels her breast size is too small.
- To correct a reduction in breast volume after pregnancy.
- To balance a difference in breast size.
- As a reconstructive technique following breast surgery.
By inserting an implant behind each breast, surgeons are able to increase a woman's bustline by one or more bra cup sizes. If you're considering breast augmentation, this will give you a basic understanding of the procedure--when it can help, how it's performed, and what results you can expect. It can't answer all of your questions, since a lot depends on your individual circumstances. Please ask your surgeon if there is anything you don't understand about the procedure.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
If you're considering a breast lift...
Over the years, factors such as pregnancy, nursing, and the force of gravity take their toll on a woman's breasts. As the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts often lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag. Breastlift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts--at least, for a time. (No surgery can permanently delay the effects of gravity.) Mastopexy can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. If your breasts are small or have lost volume--for example, after pregnancy--breast implants inserted in conjunction with mastopexy can increase both their firmness and their size. If you're considering a breast lift, this brochure will give you a basic understanding of the procedure--when it can help, how it's performed, and what results you can expect. It can't answer all of your questions, since a lot depends on your individual circumstances. Please be sure to ask your doctor if there is anything about the procedure you don't understand.

Breast Reduction
Women with large breast often feel self-conscious and desire a reduction in size. For a small (ie 1 cup size change) liposuction can often satisfy the desire, but for larger reductions, surgery effectively makes a large difference. Here I need to plan to raise the nipple areolar complex and make the breast smaller maintaining an aesthetic shape. Planning is essential and you will be marked for the surgery while you are awake so you can see the proposed change.
The procedure is usually done under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis or in the hospital.
Incisions are made around the pigmented area (the nipple-areolar complex) making a stretched out areola smaller and extend vertically below the nipple and in the fold under the breast. The nipple-areolar complex is moved upward to the desired location; excess breast tissue, fat, and skin are removed. My goal is to minimize the scarring and maximize your result. All scars can be hidden in your bra and if possible, only a vertical scar can be accomplished.
Recovery is rapid and you are back to work quickly. The result can be dramatic and life altering.

Plastic Surgery Procedures for Men |

Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia)
Men usually develop excess fat in the chest area and also in the love handles and abdominal area. All can be approached at the same time.
The fat is corrected with liposuction. Sometimes when a man has true gynecomastia, there can be some glandular tissue which is removed using a small incision around the areola. On rare occasions, when there has been massive enlargement of a male breast, excess skin may need to be excised. Usually this only occurs with a huge weight gain/loss.
The procedure is usually done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia but can be done with sedation and local anesthesia.
