If you have a scar that affects your appearance, is raised, recessed or a different color or texture than your normal skin, Dr. Rosenblatt at Lenox Hill Plastic Surgery offers scar revision.

How is scar revision performed?

Depending on the size and depth of your scar, a couple different treatment options are available. If topical treatments have not given you the results you desire, you may need to undergo a scar surface treatment or scar removal surgery if you have a deep scar.

For surface scars that need a cosmetic improvement, Dr. Rosenblatt can remove the top layer of skin so that healthy skin can form at the scar site. These options include dermabrasion, laser therapy, chemical peel or skin bleaching.

Sometimes for deeper scars an incision is needed to surgically remove the old scar.

What can I expect after scar revision?

Patients may experience swelling or discomfort at the revision site. However, the final results of scar revision will be long-lasting.

How much does scar revision cost?

For questions about financing, ask to speak with our Surgical Consultant at your appointment. They can discuss all fees and costs with you.

Dr. Rosenblatt offers other skin procedures including skin cancer removal, laceration repair and moles, lumps & bumps.
