How is liposuction performed?

The initial step for liposuction is to make a small incision. The cannula (tube) can then be inserted and excess fat is loosened and removed, as if it were vacuumed away. The entire procedure may be as fast as 30 minutes, or it may take a few hours.

What can I expect after liposuction?
Most patients feel soreness in the incision site for about five to seven days after surgery. It is important that patients return in one week for a follow-up for proper healing. You can expect to return to work after one week and back to your normal exercise routine after a month.
