Face Lift

How is a facelift performed?

A facelift is performed to remove excess upper eyelid skin and bulging lower eyelid fat pads. Facelifts are most often performed by working on one side of the face at a time. An incision is made inside the hairline and at the temple, running to either side of the ear. The excess skin can then be removed by separating the loose skin from the underlying tissue. In some cases, sagging muscles, connective tissue, and fat deposits can be tightened or removed.

Patients are sent home wrapped in dressing to reduce swelling and pain. These can usually be removed the next day.

Am I a good candidate for facelift surgery?

You may be a good candidate for facelift surgery if you have experienced a loss of skin elasticity and muscle tone, have the appearance of jowls and deep creases, have developed facial and neck wrinkles or you believe you have a tired facial appearance.
